    Trehern's Top 5 #JackKirby Kreations

    Photo from KirbyMuseum.org

The comic book world celebrated one of their finest this week as Jack Kirby, renowned artist, writer and creator, celebrated his birthday this week.  Kirby (1917-1994) is credited with many of the famous comic book characters we've come to love on the big screen: Marvel's Avengers, the Fantastic Four, X-Men and THE HULK!!

Me never go no where without collected work of Jack Kirby!  He mentor!  NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

Alright, chill out Banner.  In honor of Mr. Kirby, let's countdown his best creations in Trehern's Top 5 Best Kirby Kreations!! [1]

#5. Kamandi: If you're a fan of old school DC, then you may know of the last boy on Earth, Kamandi.  During the 1970s, Kirby worked on the book with Gerry Conway and Carmine Infantino.  You may see some similarities to the Planet of the Apes films, and you'd be correct in your assumption that ideas were drawn directly from that series.  In Kamandi's world, a "great disaster" took place that ended the reign of mankind, and highly-intelligent animals took over.  When the Crisis on Infinite Earths took place, the "great disaster" was averted; Kamandi lived in an alternate future, which I must say is riveting.
THAT NOT MARVEL!  MOVE TO THING THAT MATTER!!!!! MAKE MORE MONEY THAT WAY!!!!!!!!!
#4. Captain America: Yep, you heard right.  That wheelin' dealin' shield thrower of the big screen was created almost 75 years ago by Jack Kirby and Joe Simon.  Being the "superman" of the Marvel Universe, Cap is the big blue boy scout who does no wrong and kicks Nazis in the face!  Although his character has tended to persist over time, I've never seen a better Cap story than those told during the Marvel Civil War. Just great story telling.  And for some reason, I hated that the recent film took Cap out of the 1940s so soon!  We could have seen a whole string of WWII tales!!

#3. The New Gods: Along with Kamandi, Kirby also had his science fiction legacy cemented with the creation of the New Gods of the Fourth World.  Hailing from Apokolips and New Genesis, Kirby's imagination and design are on full display in this DC classic.  Not to mention the horrible villain Darkseid would go on to torment Superman and f*cking kill Batman!
NOT KILL DUMMY!!  BATMAN ONLY TIME TRAVEL!  ME THINK SUPER DUMB!  FINAL CRISIS SH*T!!!!
#2. Silver Surfer:  Back at Marvel, during the 1960s, artist Kirby added a newly created herald into an issue of the Fantastic Four.  Sick of drawing spaceships, he put this guy on a surfboard!  Now every long-haired West Coaster has a favorite superhero!  Norrin Radd is packing the power cosmic and his sleek design and cool concept led to an intricate and enthralling space odyssey.  Then Hollywood botched it up with Fantastic Four 2: Big Cloud.

#1. Galactus: Following the Silver Surfer on the list is the cosmic entity that follows the Silver Surfer around in the comics:  GALACTUS!  The world eater.  He eats.  F*cking.  Worlds.  How is that not the coolest villain you can think of?  Sure, Cap has Hitler, but that guy died in a bunker.  Kamandi has talking monkeys; not that bad, you can just distract them with a banana.  But when you go up against a planets-tall guy in pink armor, you best check yo self.  He will eat your world, and there's no amount of sequels that can cure that.
THIS LIST BOGUS!!! NO HULK???!!!!  ME POUND THIS LIST WITH FIST!!!!!  ME IN AVENGERS!!!  ME COMEDIC RELIEF!!!!  ME PUNCH HARD!!!!  ME...!!!  ME...!!!

    ME TIRED OF THIS JOKE.
[1] Remember people, this is a list made by Trehern.  He doesn't control the general public (although he'd like to...), which means his list may be different from yours.  DEAL WITH IT!  Also, if you have alternate lists, PC Beasts, lay 'em out in the comments section.
