    Family Holiday Home Video Spotlight

    The holidays are upon us!

Time to light a fire, make some popcorn and gather the whole family around the big screen for family movie night!

For your viewing enjoyment I present the 2012 Edition of my "Family Holiday Home Video Spotlight."

Disney has 3 excellent titles out right now that I highly recommend: "Brave," "Pixar Short Films Collection 2" and "Prep & Landing: Totally Tinsel Collection."

"Brave" is the story of Merida a princess who would rather play with her bow and arrow than practice curtseying and learn proper manners.  Pixar has once again written a story that will appeal to both boys and girls.  The girls will love that Merida isn't the normal type of princess and boys will enjoy the exciting action sequences.  The computer animation is spectacular and Merida's hair is a marvel to behold!

Part of the fun of seeing a Pixar movie on the big screen is watching the short film that precedes it. "Pixar Short Films Collection 2" brings together 12 of these short films.  Some were shown in theaters before Pixar's  theatrical releases (Presto, Partly Cloudy, Day & Night, La Luna and Hawaiian Vacation) while others like "Your Friend The Rat" and "BURN-E" were seen as special features on various Pixar DVD releases.  "Presto," "Day & Night," and "La Luna" alone are amazing.  Full of charm, wit and heart.  If you've never seen those three then this collection is for you because you will want to see them over and over again.

    And finally something really special...

The "Prep & Landing: Totally Tinsel Collection." It has been way too long since a new Christmas special has been made to rival the classics such as "Frosty The Snowman," "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer" but Disney has done it with the one, two punch of "Prep & Landing" and it's sequel "Naughty Vs. Nice."  Both of these new holiday classics feature elves Lanny and Wayne who will show children exactly how Santa is able to deliver presents around the world in just one night.  The computer animation is stellar and the humor will please everyone from preschoolers to Grandparents.

    Drumroll please...

Brave:  10 out of 10 drumsticks!!!

Pixar Short Films Collection 2:  8 out of 10 drumsticks!!!

Prep & Landing - Totally Tinsel Collection:  9 out of 10 drumsticks!!!
