THE BIG BANG THEORY: PALEYFEST 2013 by Marques Wayne

One of the biggest shows on TV had one of the most chaotic red carpets of the festival!  CBS's The Big Bang Theory had stars galore come out for PaleyFest and the photogs couldn't get enough.  The ultra popular sitcom about a group of nerds and the hot girl next door has clearly proven that its appeal reaches many demographics with the reaction it got from the fans and the press alike.

The cameras went crazy when Kaley Cuoco, who plays Penny, hit the red carpet looking stunning, but she quickly left to go backstage and didn't take any red carpet interviews.  The rest of the large cast more than made up for it and the vibe in the press tent was the most exciting I have seen it get.

The nerd-tastic fandom surrounding the show is contagious and even some of the journalists got in the spirit with one wearing a costume emblazoned with the show's catch-phrase "Bazinga!" And the questions ran the gamut from things like, "What's in the future for Howard and Bernadette?," to "Can you explain the actual big bang theory?"

The stars were all game for the questions and quipped back with quirky answers.  The jokes kept on coming during the panel when discussing the fun they have shooting the show and the jokes they like to play on each other and the writers.  Kunal Nayyar, who plays Raj, was called out for his tendency to laugh the most during takes and he revealed that co-star Johnny Galecki will sometimes whisper horrible things in his ear to get him to focus.

There were also funny anecdotes from Cuoco who explained how she and her choreographer sister organized their famous flashmob that surprised the writers and Melissa Rauch, told a hilarious story about the inadvertent faux-pas she made when cleaning off the blue paint she was covered in when her character Bernadette and Simon Helberg's Howard dressed up as Smurfs.

The fan questions were also predictably quirky as well.  Helberg was asked about Howard's belt buckles, Mayim Bialik and Jim Parsons, who play Amy and Sheldon, were asked about their spanking episode and the mystery of 'Bazinga' was revealed.'
