Concert Review: Bryan Adams LIVE @ Fred Kavli Theatre in Thousand Oaks, CA 10/13/2012
Last night Canadian hit-maker Bryan Adams brought his "Bare Bones" tour to the Fred Kavli Theatre in Thousand Oaks, CA.
Armed with a discography of 10 studio albums and 11 Top-10 singles, Adams hit the stage with only an acoustic guitar and a top hat. Adams then tore through a two hour set that included hits such as "Summer Of '69," "Cuts Like A Knife," "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You" and "Heaven."
He also pleased diehard fans with deep album tracks and songs off his most recent releases.
Adams was joined for some of the songs by keyboardist Gary Breit. Both men were having a great time and seemed to enjoy the almost constant cat calls from the enthusiastic women in the audience.
The acoustics in the Fred Kavli Theatre were absolutely perfect and if you have never seen a concert there it is one of the best music venues in Southern California.
I am happy to say that out of all the artists I have seen attempt a solo acoustic performance, Bryan Adams was the best! He totally engaged the audience from start to finish with his playful banter and crowd interplay. Having seen Adams many times in the past with a full band I can honestly say that he was every bit as good solo. He may be calling this his "Bare Bones" tour but every song he played was filled with his musical flesh and blood.
Drumroll please... 10 out of 10 drumsticks.
