    Batman: Odyssey Review

When legendary comic artist, Neal Adams announced he was writing and illustrating his own Batman story arc, everyone was excited. It was great to see his return to comics with an iconic character such as Batman. How could you go wrong with Batman riding a pterodactyl on the cover? What?

How can I put this... Batman Odyssey is utter garbage.

The plot(s?) is so convoluted and confusing by trying to jam too many elements into a singular story. The characters are all over the place and the villain appearances and team ups are random and insignificant.

There is too much dialogue. Every page is like it's own separate novel and each panel is over run to the point where Adams' artwork (the one good thing about the title) is too obscured to see. Also, the dialogue is generic and has that "jokey" Batman feel, which just doesn't fit.

I find it hard to believe that an editor ever looked at this title. I'm surprised that this was even published. It's like reading the ramblings of Abe Simpson in a Batman title.

Batman Odyssey is a 1 out of 10 WTFs!
