Suicide Squad Vol.1: Kicked in the Teeth Review
The Suicide Squad is one of those lesser known titles that has been around forever. The newest incarnation of the deadly team appears in the eponymous New 52 title.
Familiar member Deadshot leads the team comprised of B-Listers: King Shark, Black Spider, El Diablo; New Comer: Voltaic; and the crazed Harley Quinn! Yes, that's right Harley Quinn is in the Suicide Squad. She plays a significant role on the team, but she isn't a very good listener. Behind the curtain, once again is the mysterious and cunning Amanda Waller. She's shed a few pounds since the relaunch, but she's as deadly as ever. With the threat of a traitor, the team can't trust each other (not that they did in the first place), but still has a job to do. The team goes across the world running errands for Waller with the promise of freedom and the threat of death. When there's no one else to do the job, the Suicide Squad is your answer.
Writer Adam Glass (Deadpool Pulp, Supernatural) knows how to make this dysfunctional team work (and not work) together to spin a fun and violent tale! Federico Dallocchio's artwork is brilliant!
Suicide Squad is a enjoyable and bloody romp that you'll be unable to put down!
Suicide Squad Vol 1: Kicked in the Teeth is a solid 10 out of 10 Belle Reves!
