Music Review: Judas Priest ~ "Screaming For Vengeance - Special 30th Anniversary Edition" CD/DVD Review

Judas Priest has always been a force to be reckoned with in the world of hard rock & heavy metal music and in the Summer of 1982 they hit their mainstream break thru with the release of their 8th studio album "Screaming For Vengeance."

Bolstered by the fledgling television channel known as MTV Judas Priest were finally in your living room and on pop radio with the worldwide smash hit "You Got Another Thing Comin'"

"You Got Another Thing Comin'" kicked down the commercial door for Judas Priest and the band kept it open with other "Screaming For Vengeance" classics such as "Electric Eye," "Riding The Wind" and "(Take These) Chains."

Vocalist Rob Halford sounds absolutely perfect on this album and when he hits his upper register glass shatters, dogs howl and ears bleed!

The "Special 30th Anniversary Edition" of this classic album also includes 6 bonus tracks!  1 studio track that almost borders on being a power ballad in the form of "Prisoner Of Your Eyes" plus 5 LIVE cuts are from the bands September 10, 1982 concert recorded at the San Antonio Civic Center.  If there was ever any doubt whether Judas Priest could reproduce the sound of this great record on stage, these 5 tracks will end that argument!

Also included is a bonus DVD which features Judas Priests' never before released complete US Festival Show recorded on May 29, 1983 in San Bernadino, CA.

Unlike so many other "Anniversary" or "Special" edition CD releases... "Screaming For Vengeance" delivers the goods (pun intended).

Drumroll please... 10 out of 10 drumsticks!!!  (Fuck it this one goes to 11)
