    Holiday Guide: WB!

Check out our guide to some great offerings from WB that would make for great gifts for your movie/TV fan!

We picked five recent releases from WB to highlight this year.  Believe me I wish I had the chance to check out all of the studios excellent releases (The Goonies being one!) but I think we have a nice varied set to give you guys some ideas.

Read on for peaks at Rush Hour, Supernatural Season 5, Going The Distance, Flipped, and Inception.

You've probably seen it a thousand times but Rush Hour still proves to be really fun.  On Blu-ray, well it's the same movie but it looks and sounds great as you might expect.

There is a pretty decent amount of features like additional scenes, music videos, commentary, trailer, basically stuff that's been on the DVD before.

Everybody knows the jokes after years of quoting them, a tradition that continues to this day, but the real draw here remains the chemistry between its stars.  That is the real core of Rush Hour.  With any other actors, I don't think the film would work.

Rush Hour is a welcome addition to my Blu-ray library and I imagine it'd make any movie fan on your holiday list happy to have.

The Winchester boys are back as the fifth season of Supernatural hits DVD (and blu).  A show hitting five years usually begins to slow down but that doesn't seem to be the case with Supernatural as it just seems to get better and better.

This season the boys take on their biggest foe yet, if you don't know, I won't spoil.  Suffice it to say, the season is pretty great and is of course an absolute must for any fan of the show.

I wouldn't recommend this for anyone who isn't familiar with the show but you know, you can always get all five seasons for them.  It's a great show that is well worth giving as a gift (or pretending it's a gift and keeping it for yourself.)

Drew Barrymore and Justin Long take on long distance relationships in the charming, funny, and refreshingly adult Going The Distance.

While it isn't ground breaking or anything, I really enjoyed the film.  It has some great humor and earns every bit of its R rating.  Drew and Justin have some great chemistry together and Drew continues to light up the screen.  Christina Applegate steals the scenes she is in leaving one to wonder why she isn't headlining more films.  Jason Sudeikis is hilarious but feels slightly out of place as one of Justin Long's best friends.

The blu-ray is packed with features including featurettes, commentary, a music video, additional scenes, and more.  If you have fans of any of the cast or romantic comedies on your list, Going The Distance should be one they'll enjoy.

Next up is the family film about first loves, Flipped.  It's one of those under the radar movies you don't expect to enjoy but fidn yourself falling in love with.  Rob Reiner delivers a pretty great family film here.  It's funny, touching, sad, it runs the gamut of emotions.  The cast really makes this film worthwhile, especially the leads.

I was expecting this to be a rip off of Little Manhattan but it goes further than just two kids experiencing the joy and pain of first loves.  Full of recognizable faces Flipped is a charming little film your family will enjoy.

The DVD is low on special features (only sporting a featurette) but the movie more than makes up for it.

Lastly, Inception.  If I made my end of year list, which loyal readers know probably won't come till February, I'd call Inception the best of the year by far.  It's a wild and intense ride featuring absolutely riveting performances from all involved and expertly directed from the brilliant Christopher Nolan.  The script is flawless, the acting is superb, the effects are astonishing.  So far, I don't think any film has come close to it.  Inception is one of those movies that make you believe in movies again.  It can take even the most cynical of movie-goers and leave them with a sense of having their minds blown.  It demands repeat viewing and is an absolute MUST HAVE.

There you have it guys, five titles from Warner Bros. that will make great gifts for your family and friends.  There is something for everyone on this list so head over to the Pop Culture Beast Store and pick up a couple.  Especially, Inception.

Rush Hour, Supernatural Season 5, Flipped, Going The Distance and Inception are all available on DVD and Blu-ray now.
