    From the box:

Acclaimed and treasured like no other, Disney's beloved modern classic-the first animated feature film in the history of the Oscars nominated for Best Picture (1991)-is brilliantly transformed to a new level of entertainment through the magic of Blu-ray High Definition.  The music you'll never forget, the characters who will fill your heart and the magical adventure about finding beauty within all come to spectacular life in Blu-ray.  Plus, all new, immersive bonus features will transport you even further into Belle's enchanted world.  So be our guest and join the beloved, independent Belle and the Beast with the soul of a prince as they cast an enchanting spell like never before.

I won't review the actual film on this.  I'm not a fan to be honest.  It's nothing against the quality or the film itself.  It just doesn't appeal to me.  I'm not a big fan of the sing songy princess movies and Beauty certainly fits into that category.  That said, I can certainly call this blu-ray a must own.

For fans of the film, it's a wonderful return to the film allowing it to be seen in a whole new light.  For non fans, it's a testament to how beautiful an animated film can look on the format.

And beautiful might just be an understatement.  The colors are so vibrant and pure that they practically leap off the screen.  It almost appears 3-D.  It's stunning.

The sound is equally impressive and fully uses my new 7.1 sound system.  It's glorious.  I just wish I liked the movie more.

Disney has jam packed this release with all sorts of features.  Games, alternate and deleted scenes, alternate film versions, tons of featurettes, a music video with Jordin Sparks, and much more all topped off with a glorious restoration.

    Beauty and the Beast
may not be at the top of my Disney films list, but it is certainly at the top of my Disney Blu-rays.  Fans of the film will be enthralled and fans of the format will be impressed.

    Beauty and the Beast
    is available now.
