Florence and the Machine - Lungs (Mini-Review)

Yesterday when I posted that I recommend you go buy this album based off my quick listen through the 30 seconds of each track, I followed my own advice and bought it as well.  I figured, "Hey, it's only six bucks, what can it hurt?"  What I didn't expect was to be wowed at first listen.

As I put my Zune on random, I was literally bouncing my head to a song that sounded very familiar to me but I couldn't place it.  While listening to the song I got a visual of a campy action scene like in a movie.  When I got back home I instantly did a search for the song, "Kiss With a Fist" and found it was on the Jennifer's Body Soundtrack.  They must have used this song in one of the fight scenes between the two girls.  This song kicks, literally.

This second song, "Cosmic Love" is another ::jaw open:: sort of song because it's a bit different than the other songs.  It's rare to hear such a range of songs on one album. I can see this song making it into a scene of Smallville.  Oh, I just found out that it was used in Vampire Diaries LOL, well I had the demographic right.

The last I'm going to mention is "Drumming Song" and it's more like the rest of the album, but I don't think that's a bad thing. It has great energy to it and it stood out from the rest of the album alongside the others I mentioned.

"Lungs" is an album I can listen to all the way through without skipping a track.  It's definitely worth the $5.99 I paid for it on Amazon.com
