Ben Folds "Things That You Think" - Brand New Song

When Pomplamoose tweeted that it was uploading a new videosong, I figured it had to be this collaboration with Ben Folds/Nick Hornby and I literally dreamt about it during the two hours I slept.

I awoke and instantly jumped to the computer like a child to the Christmas tree on Christmas morning.  Waiting for the computer to load youtube.com, I knew Ralphie from A Christmas Story must have felt like while waiting for his Red Rider beebee gun.

Finally, it was ready to play.  I clicked that triangle and my ears were delighted to hear what came from the headphones starting with Ben Folds leading the way on the track.
It was interesting to hear Nick Hornby actually have spoken word on the track. The things he thinks aloud really sizes up with lines like, "Our universe consists of between 30 to 50 billion-trillion stars, arranged in 80 to 140 billion galaxies.  Our nearest neighboring star is called Proxima Centauri and it's four light-years away.  We need some bread, but it's really hot outside and I can't be bothered to walk 'round the corner."

Nataly Dawn and Jack Conte of Pomplamoose provide great backup vocals and a high-powered energy to the music.  Ben and Jack drop little jokes and have fun on-camera throughout the course of the song.
"Things That You Think" is not part of the new Ben Folds/Nick Hornby album that will be coming September 28. If this is any indication of what the new album will be like, then "Lonely Avenue" has the potential to be pure brilliance.  My recommendation is that you Pre-Order the album today.
