    Anime Director Satoshi Kon Dies at 47


    At 47, Satoshi Kon, beloved Anime director, died of cancer Tuesday evening. This news was tweeted by the found of Madhouse Studios, Masao Maruyam. 

    Starting his career with manga, he eventually decided on anime as his story-telling medium.  Even at such a young age, the writer/director accomplished much with his crafting of Perfect Blue, Millienium Actress, Tokyo Godfathers and Paprika.   If you've never seen any or all of these features, there has never been a better time to experience them.

    Before his death, Kon was working on a new film, Yume-Miru Kikai, or by it's American title, The Dream Machine. Satoshi said about the project, "It'll be a 'road-movie' for robots. We hope to see the project finished in a fashion that the director would have been happy with.
