The Dark Knight
I'm not going to write a long review about this movie. There really isn't much I can say that has not been said already. So, I will comment on it because I know readers want to know what I thought of it.
It's brilliant. Flawless. Perfect. It takes the world of Batman Begins and makes it a universe. It's better described as a crime movie with comic book elements. It's like Martin Scorsese's Batman.
All you have heard about Heath Ledger is true. His performance is chilling, sadistic, funny, and a little sad. You know this is a career defining performance and knowing it will never be seen again is heartbreaking. He is most certainly deserving of the Oscar so many people are demanding he receive.
The cast is at the top of their game. Everyone did phenomenal jobs.
The movie is beautifully executed both artistically and technically. There are jaw dropping action sequences and a true emotional core that is rare in comic book movies. You do not watch The Dark Knight. You experience The Dark Knight.
Christopher Nolan has done what many thought impossible. He has made a comic book movie worthy of being called a Film and I applaud him.
