Roy Scheider Dead at 75
It saddens me to write this post. The star of one of my all time favorite movies has passed away. Roy Scheider, most well known for his turn as Police Chief Brody in Jaws, passed away of undisclosed causes at the age of 75.
He was a two time Oscar nominee best-supporting actor Oscar in 1971's "The French Connection" and for best-actor for 1979's "All That Jazz."
He had been treated for multiple myeloma at the Univeristy of Arkansas Myeloma Institute for Research and Therapy for the past two years. He died there earlier today.
This is truly a sad few months for Hollywood losing not only promising stars like Heath Ledger but legends as well, including Roy Scheider and Suzanne Pleshette.
