PC Gamer recently interviewed Daniel Erickson of Bioware about Star Wars: The Old Republic's
Bioware's plans to keep subscribers and to entice players to log back in include having more events like the Rakhoul Plague and to implement a group finding tool. Erickson says that more interesting replayable content was on the way as well.
My biggest concern as an avid player is the endgame. While I enjoy the various storylines and PVP, I've also taken up operations (or raiding in WoW parlance). The problem is that hardcore players get bored easily and clamor for new ops. When they feel like they've exhausted the current endgame content, they stop logging in until the next content patch -- or cancel their subscriptions entirely. Though I don't think developers should only cater to the "it's all about the endgame" types, I do think there needs to be more content at max level.
I am enjoying the game, but miss many of my fellow players -- including The Spousal Unit who just canceled his subscription. While I am currently content with exploring the many storylines I haven't seen yet, I am anxious to continue my operative's story. But I know that will probably be in a content patch or expansion far, far away.
