The Monster Squad is coming back!

It is one of my favorite films from when I was a kid and now Platinum Dunes (producers of the brilliant Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, the atrocious Friday the 13th remake, and the Nightmare On Elm Street remake that I'm seeing tonight) are zeroing in on a screenwriter for their remake of The Monster Squad.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. I guess I should reserve judgement until more information starts to sneak out but it's hard not to get worried that a classic is again going to be destroyed.

Please don't ruin this movie.
