Get on the case with Basil, the master of disguise, as he tries to elude the ultimate rattrap and foul the perfect crime. Now digitally remastered, fully restored and complete with exclusive bonus features, The Great Mouse Detective is better than ever in The Mystery In The Mist Edition!

By and large forgotten, The Great Mouse Detectiveis a gem in the Disney crown.  I can't say I ever hear it talked about when people discuss Disney films but when I have brought it up the past few days people get all wide eyed and say "I love that movie!"  Strange.

I really quite enjoyed the film and am glad it is getting new life on DVD.  How great is a Sherlock Holmes mouse??

The film is smart and clever with some great laughs and a pretty fun mystery to boot.  I can't say there is anything I did not enjoy here.

I've always been partial to the Disney animated films that were not "Princess Movies."  I never liked Snow White or Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty.  They always seemed to easy to me.  I liked the animal driven ones like The Lion King, which is arguably their best.  The thing is I never really wanted to see sequels to these movies, especially with the track record Disney has with their embarrassing sequels.

I can honestly say I really do want more of Basil!  He's a great character and I think thanks to the enormous popularity of the recent Sherlock Holmes reboot, now is the perfect time to bring us another Great Mouse Detective!

The film is remastered and looks spectacular.  I wish they gave it a Blu-ray release but Disney for some reason is being extremely stingy with their animated Blu-ray releases.  The special features are a little weak.  Nothing too terribly interesting but the real gem here is the movie anyway.

The Great Mouse Detective is a charming, enjoyable film for the entire family.  It's rightfully claimed it's spot as one of my favorites.  It's sitting at a pretty great price right now so I would jump on it fast.

The Great Mouse Detective is in stores now.
