Music Review: BoomKat - A Million Trillion Stars

It's been a few years since BoomKat hit the charts with their first single "The Wreckoning" from their debut album, Boomkatalog One. That album is one of the albums I consistently return to. It always seems fresh when I put it on.

Now, BoomKat has finally returned with their brand new album, A Million Trillion Stars.

How does it measure up to their first album? Click the Rawr! to find out!

It surpasses it. The new album is a gorgeous mix of pop, R&B, a little rock and roll with some sweet sonic tidbits tossed in for good measure. BoomKat is a severly overlooked band with some great sounds. Taryn Manning has such a great voice. It's not a powerhouse blow the doors off the place kind of voice but it has such a great tone and purity to it. I really can't get enough of it. Her voice and lyrics along with her brothers beats and music is a match made in heaven.

The album is pretty mellow for the most part but it does have it's heavy moments. It's really a great groove disc. Kinda pop it in, drive around, relax to it, or get up and dance to it if you are so inclined. It's got everything you'd want all wrapped into one perfect package.

Beginning to end I love this album. I could go through and analyze it track by track but really, buy it and listen to it yourself. It's really a shame this band doesn't get more coverage they really deserve a lot more exposure than they get.

BoomKat's A Million Trillion Stars is available now.
