    New Show: Trust Me

When you think of great cable television series the first network that comes to mind is usually HBO. Lately, it may be Showtime that you think of. On e network you might be thinking of more often though is TNT. They hit fast with their critically loved series The Closer and recently launched Leverage. Later this month TNT will launch another new drama. This show is an interesting mix of Mad Men and Nip/Tuck. A contemporary drama set in a high octane world of advertising called Trust Me.

Trust Me marks the return to series television of Eric McCormack (Will and Grace), Tom Cavanagh (Ed), and Monica Potter (Boston Legal).

I mention Monica Potter simply because in the first two episodes I have seen of this show, she has given the best performances I've ever seen her give. From the films and shows I've seen her in she always seems kind of uptight and straight laced. Here, she is loose and quirky and really funny. It's refreshing and I think this might lead to some great recognition for her.

The show also features Griffin Dunne as the big boss of the ad agency and Sarah Clarke (24) as the wife of Eric McCormack.

The show is smart and funny and immensely watchable...about halfway through the first episode.

I took me about that long to really fall into and start enjoying the show. At first, I thought it was little gimmicky like it was going to try and be a modern day Mad Men (for the record it doesn't and it isn't). It eventually finds its footing and its voice and the ride is pretty sweet after that.

I honestly didn't expect to like it as much as I did. I'm eagerly awaiting the premiere so I can see the next episodes. I watched the first episodes a couple of weeks ago and the show keeps popping into my head, surely a sign of good TV.

The new TV season has been a bit lackluster so it is great to see a new show come along that is as promising as Trust Me.

I'll be watching with eager eyes when the show premieres later this month.

Watch Trust Me starting Monday, January 26 at 10pm on TNT.
