A great comedian was lost today.
I first learned of Bernie Mac as a stand up comedian when I watched The Original Kings of Comedy. He had me in tears. Coincidentally, we were just watching one of his movies late last night. It's a terrible film, The Player's Club, but Bernie Mac was as usual, hysterical in it.
He passed away early this morning of complications from Pneumonia. He was 50 years old. Mac suffered from sarcoidosis, an inflammatory lung disease that produces tiny lumps of cells in the body's organs, but in 2005 had said the disease had gone into remission.
This is a terrible loss to the comedy world and he will be missed.
