The Weakerthans started back in '97 after the various band members tired of previous collaborative projects. They joined together with the hopes of creating a more introspective, and melodic rock music that was certainly not yet present in the genre at the time.
Instantly after the release of their freshman album, they received positive reviews and dedicated fans from the Canadian music world. In 2003, with the release of their album "Reconstruction Site," they garnered rave reviews from national and international music critics alike.
Currently, the band is slated to release a new album this October, so keep your eyes peeled. In the meantime, here is a taste of their music with one of their hits called "Aside." Enjoy!
